Join the Maritz WellBeing Challenge Powered by Heka Health at PCMA 2021 EduCon 

During the EduCon, we invite you to participate in some friendly competition and get to know your fellow attendees.   Join the Maritz Wellbeing Challenge powered by Heka Health and connect with your peers, race to the top of the leaderboard and accelerate your overall wellbeing throughout the event both live and digitally. Registration is easy! 

Download the app, be a part of the fun and win prizes for being healthy!  

The Well-Being Challenge starts on Wednesday, July 7 at 12:01 a.m. MT and

ends on Friday, July 9 at 11:59 p.m. MT.

All participants can track their steps using the Challenge with their own personal Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, or the step trackers integrated on their iPhone/Android smartphone via Apple Health or Google Fit. *​ 

The Heka Well app collects this data and creates a dynamic experience for EduCon attendees to compete and give to a greater cause while attending 2021 EduCon.  Participants can earn bonus steps by completing Bonus Activities below throughout EduCon.  You can earn up to 52,500 bonus steps to push yourself to the top of the leaderboard. Instructions below.

1) Download the "Heka Well" Challenge app:


2) Complete the registration and pairing process:

  • Launch the Challenge App and select "PCMA EduCon Wellbeing" from the list 

  • Complete the in-app registration process

  • Select the team you will compete with other PCMA EduCon teams based on your Team’s  average step counts over the next 2 days. The top teams will display on the Team Leaderboard within the app​ as well as on the Challenge website

  • Pair your supported activity tracker (see the Challenge FAQ for details)

3) Start stepping:

  • To sync your step data to the app, select "Tap to sync steps" at the top of the dashboard

  • Note that your steps will only count from the time you first pair your tracker

  • Steps based on manually entered activities will automatically be added to your step counts

  • Please sync your activity tracker at least one time every 24-hour period and before your Challenge end time to make sure all your steps count!

1. The first 100 participants to download the Challenge app will be entered for raffle prizes.


2. All participants that reach a cumulative step goal level listed below by the end of the Challenge will be entered into drawings for a chance to win a price.


  • 25K Steps – four (4) random drawing winners get a $25 gift card

  • 50K Steps – three (3) random drawing winners get a $50 gift card

  • 75K Steps – two (2) random drawing winners get a $100 gift card

WellBeing Challenge winners will be announced on 7/9. 

A Winning Strategy


We know you will be immersed in the EduCon experience either digitally or live and we have designed this Challenge for all to participate and engage with each other.  Whether you are at home or in Phoenix, the Wellbeing Challenge incorporates many of the EduCon activities and your own activities to propel to you the top of the leaderboard and keep you healthy throughout EduCon. 


There are several  ways to increase your points thru bonus activities. These activities are based on the Maritz 5 Dimensions of Wellbeing to help you think specifically about the many aspects of your life and keep it all in balance.


Please note: we have identified activities for the Live Audience (L) and for both Digital and Live Audiences (DL).   

1. Personal Wellbeing  - Caring for yourself

Healthy Living Activities During the Event  - Get Fit with the Foundation (L) 5k – Thursday, July 8 @ 6:30 am – 7:30 am 

Bonus Steps: 1,000


Namaste with PCMA - Friday, July 9 @ 7:00am – 8:00 am (L)

Bonus Steps: 1,000


Wellbeing Lounge  - Join us in the Hub during the break times to focus on you.  Join us for either a 15 – minute mediation or chair yoga class and earn bonus points.  (L)

Bonus Steps: Maximum 1 per day x 1,000 x 3 days = 3,000 steps


Massage Lounge – Take care of you via relaxing massage and earn bonus steps.  Did you know the massage is one of the most powerful tools to help you relax and refocus?  Try it and see. (L)

Bonus Steps: Maximum 1 per day x 1,000 x 3 days = 3,000 steps


Scan In Activities - Utilize the hotel’s health and wellness activities to earn bonus steps.  Activities include Tennis, Pickle Ball, Bike rental, Walking maps, Pelton Bikes, Fitness on Demand Classes.  Using the Challenge app, scan-in the QR Code that is located at the Fitness Center Desk. (L)  

Bonus Steps: Maximum 1 per day x 1,000 x 3 days = 3,000 steps

Healthy Living Videos – working on with 2 vendors – Puerto Rico videos…..(DL)

Bonus Steps: Maximum 2 per day x 1,000 x 3 days = 6,000 steps


Gratitude Journal – Log 3 things you are grateful for or the positive events that have happened in your day.  Practice journaling for your mind daily to lower your stress levels and feel calmer at night.  (DL)

Bonus Steps:  1,000 per day x 3 days = 3,000 steps


2. Social Wellbeing – Caring for others

Conversation Starters - Connecting with other attendees via unique QR codes at the Conversation Starter stations and earn bonus steps. (L)

Bonus Steps:  500 per activity and maximum 5 per day = 2,500 per day x 3 days = 7,500 


Connect via Social Media -  The Wellbeing Challenge app has the integrated Twitter and Facebook modules.  Throughout, EduCon, share photos of you participating in the EduCon activities or any of the EduCon Wellbeing Challenge activities. The module automatically adds the bonus steps. Users can post as often as they like. (DL) 

Bonus Steps:   Maximum 1 per day x 1,000 x 3 days = 3,000 steps


Caring for others by giving back - Participate in the HHH Wheelchair build for Paralyzed Veterans America. After the event, scan in for bonus points awarded.  Event to be held Thursday, July 8 - 3:30 – 5:00 pm.  (L)

Bonus Steps:  1,000 steps

3. Environmental Wellbeing - Caring for the earth

Reduce CO2 Emission - Track estimated reduction of your group’s carbon footprint for every step. Track real time emission reduction estimate on leaderboard and provide data on reduced emission equivalents. This will be on the leader board and support the Environmental effort. Not a bonus points redeemer.  Knowledge of the impact.

Plogging - is a combination of jogging with picking up litter. As a workout, it provides variation in body movements by adding bending, squatting and stretching to the main action of running, hiking, or walking. Earn Bonus steps by using the Challenge app's integrated Twitter and Facebook modules and sharing on social media.  (DL)


Hydration Stations – Fill your water bottle up and reduce waste.   Scan the QR codes at various water stations throughout the event.  (L)

Bonus Steps:  250 steps per fill.  Maximum 4 times per day x 250 =1,000 steps per day (3,000 steps for the entire conference).  Time constraints will be added….1 fill per hour. 


4. Career Wellbeing – Caring for your career

  • Write down 3 career goals at the beginning of the event and at the end. (DL)

  • Bonus Steps:  2,500 per entry – Maximum 2 opportunities =  5,000 steps


5. Financial Wellbeing - Caring for the financial future of the industry

  • Scan-In at the PCMA Foundation Connect Lounge - Learn about the opportunity of supporting the industry thru the Foundation.  (L)

  • Bonus Steps:  Connect Lounge = 1,000 steps x maximum 1 per day x 3 = 3,000 steps


  • Scan-In in at the Give Back Bash - Visit the X and scan the QR code to earn points.  (L)

  • Bonus Steps: Give Back Bash = 1,000 points 



Check out your status anytime on the Leaderboard. 


The Leaderboard (also available within the app) is refreshed approximately every 10 minutes once the Challenge has started.
