After the Fellows Forum, we invite you to continue your pursuit of taking good care of yourself and participate in some friendly competition with other Fellows.
Join the 30-Day Fitness Challenge and continue to connect with your peers. Race to the top of the leaderboard and accelerate achieving your physical and mental fitness goals. Open the Heka Well app, reset from the previous Challenge and be a part of the action!
30-DAY CHALLENGE: Starts on Friday, June 18 at 12:01 a.m. CDT and
ends on Sunday, July 18 at 11:59 p.m. CDT
The Heka Challenge app tracks your steps. All participants track their steps using their own personal Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, or the step trackers integrated on their iPhone/Android smartphone via Apple Health or Google Fit. *
The Heka Well app collects activity data to create a dynamic experience for you to take good care of yourself after the 2021 Fellow Forum and to compete with your colleagues for a little fun and bragging rights and the “Golden Shoe” Award.
In addition to your steps, the Challenge is designed to give you opportunities to accumulate
more steps by participating in different Bonus Activities including yoga, bootcamp, practicing gratitude and more. Plus, the app converts your other physical activities (i.e. rowing, biking, or swimming) into steps.
Ready for the Fitness Challenge? Login now:
1) Start/Open the "Heka Well" app:
Launch the Challenge App and select "AMD Fellows Fitness Challenge" from the list
Login by using the same account and password as you used at the Fellows Forum Challenge
Select your Nickname for the Leaderboard
Pair your supported activity tracker (see the Challenge FAQ for details)
3) Start stepping:
To sync your step/activity data to the app, select "Tap to sync steps" at the top of the dashboard
Note that your steps will only count from the time you first pair your tracker
Steps based on manually entered fitness activities will automatically be added to your step counts
Please sync your activity tracker at least one time every 24 hour period and before your Challenge end time to make sure all your steps count!

A Winning Strategy
Yes, your team can walk or run for hours; however, we have curated more ways to accelerate your points. You have 2 ways to amplify your point collection:
1. Fitness Activity: Participate in your favorite fitness activity and by using the Challenge app select the time you spent doing the activity and automatically receive the equivalent steps. Logging activities for steps credits are based on an honor system.
2. Bonus Activity: To help you achieve your fitness goals, earn daily bonus steps by engaging in the well-being activities listed below.
Gratitude: Listen to the 10 min. mindfulness podcast from guru, Lee Papa, and earn a one-time 5,000 bonus steps. (Limit one grant during the Challenge. Total points available for the 30-Day Challenge = 5,000 steps.)
Journal: Log 3 things you are grateful for or the positive events that have happened in your day. Practice journaling for your mind daily to lower stress levels and feel calmer at night. You will automatically receive 2,000 bonus steps for completing your journal entries. (Limit of one bonus grant per day. Total points available for the 30-Day Challenge = 60,000 steps.)
Healthy Living Videos: Watch and participate in the four (4) Healthy Living videos and earn 2,000 bonus steps upon completion. (Limit of one bonus grant per day. Total points available for the 30-Day Challenge = 60,000 steps.) Sessions are available according to schedule below:
Mat Yoga - (June 18-June 24): Give yourself 15 minutes of zen! Hop on for an all levels flow yoga class. It is accessible and fun for beginners and experienced participants. This short and well-balanced sequence provides you with everything you need to get your daily dose of breath, movement, and mobility. No experience necessary.
Bodyweight Class - (June 25-July 1): This dynamic bootcamp session will get your heart and blood pumping! Participants will use their own weight to provide resistance for each exercise. We will incorporate body weight, plyometric and core focused movements to get you moving functionally! Class is accessible and fun for everybody - even first-time students.
Sleep Education - (July 2-July 8): Three Mindset Shifts to Reclaim Your Sleep. Every human sleeps and at some point in your life you may struggle with sleep. Learn tips on how to get a good night sleep, learn how help yourself on those nights you cannot sleep and how to sleep well in a different setting other than your own.
Breathwork - (July 9-July 18): Learn how to use your breath to regulate your nervous system! In this session we share accessible and simple breathing techniques to promote relaxation in the body and mind. Leave feeling energized and relaxed!
