The Wellness Challenge app is available to participants using their own personal Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin or step trackers integrated on the smartphone via Apple Health or Google Fit.
1) Download the Challenge app:
For tracking steps using Fitbit, Garmin, or Apple Health download the "AUA Wellness Challenge" app:
For tracking steps using the Google Fit app on an Android smartphone, download the "Heka Well" app, and select "AUA Wellness Challenge" from the list when prompted:
2) Complete the registration and pairing process:
Complete the in-app registration process
Pair your supported activity tracker (see the Challenge FAQ for details)
3) Start Stepping:
To sync your step data to the app, select "Tap to sync steps" at the top of the dashboard
Note that your steps will only count from the time you first pair your tracker
Please sync your activity tracker at least one time every 24-hour period and before your Challenge end time to make sure all your steps count!
Engage in multiple Wellness activities and earn bonus steps to help you achieve your goals. Once the Challenge has started, press the "Bonus Activities" selector ** in the Challenge App:
Scan-In: There will be 9 QR codes available for a daily step boost ranging from 500 to 1000 additional steps!
Virtual – The 9 different QR codes will be hidden in our virtual meeting! Look in the following locations for your daily scan-in:

- AUA2021 Homepage
- Daily Emails
- Daily Tweets
- History Virtual Booth
- Membership Virtual Booth
Meditation: Put on your headset, find a quiet location that suits you best to go through the seven minute meditation session. You will automatically receive 1,000 bonus steps for each meditation session you complete (limit of one bonus grant per session and day).
Gratitude Journal: Using the in-app Gratitude Journal, enter 3 things you are grateful for each day to help lower stress and promote calmness in your life. To provide context, we recommend listening to the Gratitude Audio session prior to journaling. You will automatically receive 500 bonus steps for completing your daily journal entries (limit of one bonus granted per day).
Standing Yoga: This six minute session can be done anywhere, without a mat. We will connect to the breath as we step into two standing yoga poses. We will loosen tight shoulders and open the chest, while strengthening the legs. We will slow down the breath as we ground our feet.
Watch the video and automatically receive 1,000 bonus steps (limit of one bonus granted per day).
Step Goal Prizes: All participants reaching any of the Challenge Step Level Goals at the end of the challenge will be entered into a drawing for one prize as listed below:
- PLATINUM 35,000+ Steps: (3) AUA2022 Registration
- GOLD 30,000+ Steps: (3) Complimentary Room Night at an official AUA hotel for AUA2022
- SILVER 25,000+ Steps: (2) 2022 Online Update Series
- BRONZE 20,000+ Steps: (25) $50 Visa Gift Cards
Final Leaderboard Prizes:
All participants that are on the final cumulative leaderboard (top 25 steppers) will be entered into a drawing for one:
GRAND PRIZE: (3) Apple Watches.
Challenge prize winners to be awarded on 9/12 at 4 p.m. PDT.
The Leaderboard below (also viewable in the app) rotates among the top 25 steppers and is refreshed approximately every 10 minutes once the Challenge has started.
