Join the 2021 IACP OSW Walking Challenge!
Improving officer safety and wellness enhances the health and effectiveness of officers, as well as the safety of the community.
This Challenge is just one way to get involved in the IACP Virtual Officer Safety & Wellness Symposium March 17-19 2021.
The Walking Challenge is sponsored by FirstNet® Built with AT&T and encourages attendees to engage in healthy activities, some friendly competition, and win prizes.
The IACP OSW Walking Challenge starts at 12:01 a.m. ET on Wednesday, March 17 and ends at 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, March 19. Participants can track their steps using their own personal Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, or the step trackers integrated on their iPhone/Android smartphone via Apple Health or Google Fit.* The Walking Challenge is open to OSW Symposium registrants only.
1) Download the Heka Well App:
2) Launch the App and select the "IACP OSW Walking Challenge" from the list of events.
3) Register for the Challenge: Enter email address, name, and password
Note: If you participated in the Walking Challenge during the IACP 2019 Annual Conference, your email is likely still on file. If you want to use the same email address as before, follow these steps
On the Register screen "Tap here if you already have a user account"
Login with your email address and password
If you do not remember your password, tap "Forgot Password" and follow the instructions to reset
4) Complete the User Profile: Choose a nickname for the Challenge Leaderboard and a measurement system
5) Pair a Step Tracker: Choose Google Fit, Apple Health, FitBit or Garmin
6) Start Walking!
To sync your step data to the app, select 'Tap to sync steps' at the top of the dashboard
Note that your steps will only count from the time you first pair your step tracker
Please sync your step data at least one time per 24 hour period and before the Challenge end time to make sure all your steps count!
Engage in wellness activities and earn bonus steps to help you achieve your goals. You will earn bonus steps for each completed activity. Once the Challenge has started, tap the Bonus Activities button ** in the Heka Well Challenge app.

IACP Activities: Scan-In at the following scheduled activities or locations and receive a once daily bonus of 500 steps.
Nutrition: Learn about new and easy ways to prepare healthy snacks and meals for the whole family with better ingredients while minimizing added sugar. Presented by nutritionist and the best selling author of Half the Sugar, All the Love, Jennifer Tyler Lee. These five nutrition sessions will all be viewable in the Heka Well app throughout the Challenge. Receive 500 bonus steps for each completed session.

The participant with the highest number of cumulative steps at the end of the Challenge will receive: One (1) complimentary full conference registration for you to attend the 2022 Officer Safety and Wellness Symposium.
Top 25 Steppers - Drawing
Two random winners drawn from the 25 steppers at the top of the Leaderboard at the end of the Challenge will win: One (1) complimentary full conference registration for you to attend the 2022 Officer Safety and Wellness Symposium.
Each participant who views 4 of 5 of the in-app Nutrition videos will be entered into a drawing to win 1 of 7 copies of the Half the Sugar, All the Love cookbook.
All winners will be notified individually by email.
The Leaderboard below (also viewable in the app) rotates among the top 25 steppers and is refreshed approximately every 10 minutes once the Challenge has started.
