Join the Walking Challenge at NCSL’s Legislative Summit in Nashville, Aug. 5-8! 
Participate in some friendly competition amongst your peers as you work your way up the leaderboard and try to exceed the Challenge Step Goals to win prizes!

 

The Walking Challenge starts on Monday, August 5 at 1:30 p.m CT and ends on Thursday, August. 8 at 11:30 a.m. CT. Participants can track their steps using their own personal Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, or the step trackers integrated on their iPhone/Android smartphone via Apple Health or Google Fit. (i)

DAILY SCAN-IN TO EARN BONUS STEPS

To help you support your Challenge efforts, scan the two (2) QR codes daily using the Challenge App at the following locations throughout the Expo, and receive 500 bonus steps at each scan: (ii)

  • AHA booth #309

  • NCSL booth #615

FINAL LEADERBOARD PRIZES

 

1. Top 10 steppers will be entered into a drawing for a pair of Powerbeats Head Phones.​​

2. Top 10 steppers will receive a cooking set from AHA.

3. Top 11 - 40 steppers will receive an aluminum water bottle from AHA.

 

Winners will be announced at the final meeting on August 8 at 12:30 p.m. 

To join:
1) Download the Heka Walk Challenge app:

2) Launch the App and complete the registration and pairing process:
  • Launch the Challenge app and select the 'NCSL' from the list of Walking Challenges
  • Complete the registration fields
  • Pair your supported step tracker (see the Challenge FAQ Webpage for details)
3) Start Walking!
  • To sync your step data to the app, select "Tap to sync steps" at the top of the dashboard
  • Note that your steps will only count from the time you first pair your step tracker
  • Please sync your step data at least one time per 24 hour period and before the Challenge end time to make all your steps count!

(i) The Walking Challenge app requires iOS 9.0 and above on the following devices:  iPhone 4S and above, iPad Air, Mini, and 3rd & 4th generation iPads. Android requirements: Android 5.0 and above that have not been customized by the phone-tablet manufacturer.

(ii) To scan QR codes:

  1. Open the Heka Walk Walking Challenge' app

  2. Press the Scan-In button located on the Walking Challenge dashboard in the app. Note that you will need to allow the app access to your device's camera 

  3. Align the app viewer with the QR Code and the code will automatically be detected and confirmed
