PDT Step Challenge
ALL PDT attendees are encouraged to participate in some friendly competition amongst your peers as you get moving and work your way to great prizes!

 

The PDT Steps Challenge officially kicks off on Monday, July 22 at 12:01 am CT and ends on Tuesday, July 23 at 11:59 pm CT.  Participants can track their steps using their own personal Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, or the step trackers integrated on their iPhone/Android smartphone via Apple Health or Google Fit. (i)

 
To join:
1) Download the Heka Walk app
  • Click the icon below or search for "Heka Walk" in the Apple Store or Google Play Store (note that the links below are currently not active from within the PDT Event app)

2) Launch the app and register
  • Select "PDT19" from the list of Challenges
  • Complete the registration fields
  • Pair your supported step tracker (see the Challenge FAQ Webpage for details)
3) Start Moving!
  • To sync your step data to the app, select "Tap to sync steps" at the top of the dashboard
  • Note that your steps will only count from the time you first pair your step tracker
  • Please sync your step data at least one time per 24 hour period and before the Challenge end time of 11:59 pm CT on July 23rd to make all your steps count!

BONUS STEPS: Find the QR code in the AGA booth and scan it using the built-in QR code scanner within the Challenge app for a daily bonus boost of 500 steps on July 22 & 23rd. (ii)

STEP CHALLENGE PRIZES:

  • The first 50 participants that have downloaded the Challenge app, paired their device, and then stop by the PDT registration desk will receive a prize.

  • If you reach one of the following PDT step goals, you will be entered into a drawing for that bracket:

    • 10K steps:  four (4) random drawing winners get $25 gift cards

    • 25K steps:  three (3) random drawing winners get $50 gift cards

    • 40K steps:  three (3) random drawing winners get $100 gift cards

Prizes will be announced in the PDT app and posted at the registration area on Wednesday July 24 at 10:00 a.m. CT.

(i) The Walking Challenge app requires iOS 9.0 and above on the following devices:  iPhone 4S and above, iPad Air, Mini, and 3rd & 4th generation iPads. Android requirements: Android 5.0 and above that have not been customized by the phone-tablet manufacturer.

(ii) To scan QR codes:

  1. Open the Heka Walk app

  2. Press the Scan-In button located on the Walking Challenge dashboard in the app. Note that you will need to allow the app access to your device's camera 

  3. Align the app viewer with the QR Code and the code will automatically be detected and confirmed
