 Step up to the SIR19 Wellness Challenge and join in the fun!
   
SIR is proud to offer you a Wellness Challenge which will be running between 
Sunday, March 24 from noon CT and Wednesday, March 27 until 1 p.m. CT.

Delegates who participate in the Challenge will be tracking their steps using their own personal Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, or the step trackers integrated on their iPhone/Android smartphone via Apple Health or Google Fit.(1)

To join:
1) Download the 'SIR19 Wellness Challenge' App:
 
 
2) Complete the in-app registration and pairing process:
  • Launch the Challenge App and complete the registration fields
  • Pair your supported step tracker (see the Challenge FAQ Webpage for details)
3) Start Walking!
  • To sync your step data to the app, select 'Tap to sync steps' at the top of the dashboard
  • Note that your steps will only count from the time you first pair your step tracker
  • Please sync your step data at least one time a day as some data sources will not provide step data that is over 24 hours old

HOW DOES IT WORK?

For every 10K steps a participant takes during the SIR19 Wellnss Challenge, they will be entered into a drawing for one of eight prizes.

'TAKE A SELFIE CHALLENGE!'

Part of the fun is to post selfies of you and/or your colleagues from four (4) chosen locations. We’re excited to see your selfies from the following tweet spots:

1)  SIR Convention Center (4th Street Entrance)

2)  SIR Expo Hall Entrance 

3)  BTG Booth Hospitality Desk

4)  SIR Foundation Grant Award Recipient Wall (near Level 1 Entrance)

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT POSTING A SELFIE FOR THE CHALLENGE?

  • Always post your selfie tweet using the App to be entered into the drawing. Tap the SELFIE TWEET / SCAN-IN button on the App dashboard. Align the App viewer with the QR code on the poster at the location to automatically activate the integrated Twitter module. Login to your Twitter account (or create an account if you do not currently use Twitter). Take a selfie and tweet via the Twitter module within the Challenge App. You will receive a confirmation of entry into the Selfie Challenge.

  • You can tweet a selfie at each location once a day

  • You can enter a maximum of 16 tweets over the duration of SIR

  • Each tweet will give you an entry in the ‘Take a Selfie Challenge’ prize draw (2)

  • Content you submit, post or display will be viewable by others and may be retweeted

 

BOOST YOUR STEPS AT SCANNING HOTSPOTS

To help you achieve your step level goals, boost your score by 250 bonus steps by scanning the five QR codes daily using the SIR19 Wellness Challenge App at the following hotspots:

1)  BTG Booth Educational Theatre Sessions

     (noon - 1 p.m., QR code in lunch bag)

2)  SIR Registration

3)  SIR Central (booth 639) 

4)  Scientific Poster Area (back of the Expo)

5)  AVIR Session (Hilton 6th floor, near room J&K)

 

Each Scanning Hotspot has a poster with relevant QR code which can be scanned. 

HOW DO I SCAN A QR CODE?

Everything works within the App. Tap the 'SELFIE TWEET / SCAN-IN' button on the App dashboard and allow the App access to your device’s camera.  Align the App viewer with the QR code. The code will automatically be detected and provide you with a confirmation notice.

Notes:

1. The Walking Challenge app requires iOS 9.0 and above on the following devices:  iPhone 4S and above, iPad Air, Mini, and 3rd & 4th generation iPads. Android requirements: Android 5.0 and above that have not been customized by the phone-tablet manufacturer.

2. All prize drawings will take place after SIR2019 and winners will be notified via email.
