It’s time to get excited and WOC for Wellness! The three-month WOC for Wellness Challenge is an overall virtual wellness challenge which promotes a healthy lifestyle through tracking physical steps and healthy activities as well as the opportunity to gain wellness points through engaging in current member benefits. Get ready for some friendly competition and let’s climb that leaderboard for many opportunities to win prizes and stay healthy and informed!

The WOC for Wellness Challenge starts on Wednesday, September 15 at 12:01 am EDT and ends on Wednesday, December 15 at 11:59 pm EST . Participants can track their steps using their own personal Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, or the step trackers integrated on their iPhone/Android smartphone via Apple Health or Google Fit.*

TO JOIN

1) Download the WOC for Wellness Challenge app:
 
2)​ Complete the registration, user profile, and pairing process
  • Register for the Challenge: Enter email address, name, and password
  • User Profile: Choose a nickname for the Challenge Leaderboard and a measurement unit
  • Pair a Step Tracker: Choose Google Fit, Apple Health, FitBit or Garmin. For more details see the FAQ.
3) Start Walking and earning step boostsa (see Bonus Activities below)!
  • To sync your step data to the app, select 'Tap to sync steps' at the top of the dashboard
  • Note that your steps will only count from the time you first pair your step tracker
  • Please sync your step data at least one time per 24 hour period and before the Challenge end time to make sure all your steps count!

Nutrition:

 

Learn about new and easy ways to prepare healthy snacks and meals for the whole family with better ingredients while minimizing added sugar. Presented by nutritionist and the best-selling author of Half the Sugar, All the Love, Jennifer Tyler Lee. A new video will be added every few weeks throughout the Challenge (see the schedule below). Receive one 500-step boost daily during the indicated video release dates.

 

Below is the schedule for when the Nutrition videos will be released. Once available, a video may viewed throughout the Challenge, but will only earn bonus steps during the indicated dates.

  1. Natural Sugar: Sep 15 - Oct 4

  2. Added Sugar: Oct 5 - Oct 22

  3. Sweeteners: Oct 23 - Nov 9

  4. Three Colors on Your Plate: Nov 10 - Nov 27

  5. Small Positive Changes: Nov 28 - Dec 15

INCENTIVES AND PRIZES

 

Step Level Goals: Strive to reach the following Step Level after Month 1 (30 days), Month 2 (61-days) and by the end of Challenge Month 3 (92 days). All participants who reach the step levels at the end of each Challenge month will be entered into random drawings for the indicated prizes. Steps may be accumulated both by walking and by earning Bonus Activity boosts (see above). ​Steps accumulate from month to month. There are a total of 193,000 bonus steps available throughout the Challenge, but pace yourself!

Month 1 Step Levels: September 15 - October 14

Level 3: 423,000 or more steps and boosts

Level 2: 273,000 or more steps and boosts

Level 1: 78,000 or more steps and boosts

Month 2 Step Levels: September 15 - November 14

Level 3: 860,000 or more steps and boosts

Level 2: 555,000 or more steps and boosts

Level 1: 158,000 or more steps and boosts

Month 3 Step Levels: September 15 - December 15

Level 3: 1,295,000 or more steps and boosts

Level 2: 835,000 or more steps and boosts

Level 1: 236,000 or more steps and boosts

Nutrition

Each participant who views all 5 of the in-app Nutrition videos will be entered into a drawing to win 1 of 7 copies of the Half the Sugar, All the Love cookbook.

All winners will be notified individually by email.

CHALLENGE LEADERBOARD

The Leaderboard below (also viewable in the app) rotates among the top 25 steppers and is refreshed approximately every 10 minutes once the Challenge has started.
