Participate in friendly competition with your peers and engage in various wellness activities as you work your way up the Challenge Leaderboard

The AAO Wellness Challenge starts on Friday, June 25 at 12:01 am CDT and ends on Sunday, June 27 at 11:59 pm CDT.  Participants can track their steps using their own personal Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, or the step trackers integrated on their iPhone/Android smartphone via Apple Health or Google Fit. *

TO JOIN:

1) Download the Heka Well App on your smartphone using one of the buttons below:

2) Open the app and select the AAO Wellness Challenge from the list of events.
 
3) Complete the in-app Registration, User Profile and Pairing process:
  • Register for the ChallengeEnter email address, name, and password.
  • Complete the User ProfileChoose a nickname for the Challenge Leaderboard and a measurement system.
  • Pair a Step Tracker Pair a tracker before the Challenge begins or as soon as you join; steps logged before pairing do not sync retroactively. For more information, visit the FAQ.
3) Start Walking!
  • To sync your step data to the app, select Tap to sync steps at the top of the Summary screen.
  • Note: Though the app will begin syncing your steps once you have paired a tracker, only steps synced starting June 25 will be credited in the Challenge and on the Leaderboard.
  • Please sync your step data frequently, at least once per day, and before the Challenge ends to make sure all your steps count!

BONUS ACTIVITIES

Engage in multiple Bonus Activities to help you support your Challenge goals and earn step boosts. Once the Challenge has started on June 25, tap the Bonus Activities selector** in the Heka Well app and choose any of the following. 

  • Scan-In: Locate the QR codes in the following virtual locations and Scan-In using the in-app viewer for the indicated boosts:

    • Lobby. Find the QR code in the Virtual Lobby and scan for a one-time bonus of 5,000 steps​

    • Sponsor Booth Visit the SPEED System Sponsor Booth and scan the QR code for a one-time bonus of 5,000 steps

  • Meditation: Put on your headset, find a quiet location that suits you, and listen to your choice of the following three Meditations with Lee Papa. Receive 500 bonus steps once per session, but view as often as you like. (max 1,500 steps)

    • Body Scan

    • Abundance

    • Waterfall Wash

  • Yoga: Focus on releasing tension, connecting with the breath, and gaining strength, flexibility and a centering of the mind. Three levels available: Beginning, Intermediate (all levels), Advanced. Receive 500 bonus steps once per session, but view as often as you like. (max 1,500 steps)

STEP LEVEL GOALS AND PRIZES

Step Level Goals: Strive to reach the following Step Levels by the end of the Challenge. All participants in Levels 1 and 2 will be entered into random drawings for the indicated prizes, one winner per level. The Top 3 steppers in Level 3 will each win a prize. Steps may be accumulated both by walking and by earning Bonus Activity boosts (see above).​​

  • Level 3: 55,000+ steps (~18K steps/day)

Winners will be announced by email on July 2, 2021

 

CHALLENGE LEADERBOARD

The Leaderboard below, also viewable in the Challenge app, rotates among the Top 25 steppers. Data is updated every 10 minutes once the Challenge begins.

**  Bonus Activities

  1. On the Challenge app's Summary screen, tap the Bonus Activities selector.

  2. Press Scan-In, Meditate, Yoga button and follow the app instruction to receive your bonus steps.
