Join the IACP OSW Wellness Challenge!
Improving officer safety and wellness enhances the health and effectiveness of officers, as well as the safety of the community.
 
This Challenge is just one way to get involved in the IACP Officer Safety & Wellness Symposium March 3-5, 2023.
The Wellness Challenge is sponsored by FirstNet® Built with AT&T and encourages attendees to engage in healthy activities, some friendly competition, and win prizes.

The IACP OSW Wellness Challenge starts on Friday, March 3 at 12:01 a.m. PT and ends on Sunday, March 5 at 12:00 p.m. PT.

To join:

1) Download the
"IACP Wellness Challenge" app:

2) Set up your Challenge Account:

  • Launch the Challenge app and complete the in-app registration.

  • Pair your supported activity tracker 
    • Anyone can track their steps using their smartphone* by pairing with Apple Health on iOS or Google Fit on Android. (You must have the Apple Health or Google Fit  app installed on your phone and tracking your steps before pairing.)

    • The Challenge app also imports step data from FitbitGarmin and Apple Watch.

3) Start Walking!

  • To sync your step data to the app, select 'Tap to sync steps' at the top of the dashboard

  • Note that your steps will only count from the time you first pair your step tracker

  • Please sync your step data at least one time per 24 hour period and before the Challenge end time to make sure all your steps count!

BONUS ACTIVITIES

 

Engage in wellness activities and earn bonus points to help you achieve your goals. You will earn bonus points for each completed activity. Once the Challenge has started, tap the Bonus Activities button ** in the Challenge app and press the Scan-In or Meditation buttons and follow the instructions to receive your bonus points.

 

  • Scan-In: Participate in the following scheduled activities and scan the QR codes at each location to earn 1,000 bonus points during the Challenge:
     

1. Plank, Push-Up, Wall Sit Challenges

a. Wall-Sit: Friday, March 3 at 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM (California D)

b. Plank: Saturday, March 4 at 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM (California D)

c. Push-Up: Sunday, March 5 at 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM (California D)

2. Yoga and Pilates Sessions

a. Yoga: Saturday, March 4 at 7:00 AM - 7:30 AM (Health Club Fitness Studio)

b. Pilates: Sunday, March 5 at 7:00 AM - 7:30 AM (Health Club Fitness Studio)

3. Additional Activities

a. On-Duty Stretches and Tactical Posture Exercises for Officers: Friday, March 3 at 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM (California D)

b.  Moving into Resilience: Dance/Movement Therapy Techniques to Build Self-Awareness,

     Flexibility, and Focus: Saturday, March 4 at 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM (California D)

 

4.Therapy Dog Lounge: (One scan per day)

a. Friday, March 3 from 7:30 AM - 6:30 PM (California D)

5. Gratitude Board(One scan per day)

  • Meditation: Put on your headset, find a quiet location that suits you best, and use the meditation module in the Challenge app to go through the seven-minute meditation session. You will receive one bonus of 1,000 points per day you practice meditation during the Challenge.

INCENTIVES AND PRIZES

 

Top Wellness Prize

The participant with the highest number of cumulative wellness points at the end of the Challenge will receive: One (1) complimentary full conference registration to attend the 2024 Officer Safety and Wellness Symposium and an IACP OSW Challenge Coin.

Daily Wellness Goal Prizes

Participants reaching 20,000 wellness points or more each day (as listed below) will be entered into a random drawing for a prize: 

- Friday March 3: One random winner drawn from all participants that accumulate 20,000 points or more for the day will win: one (1) complimentary full conference registration to attend the 2024 Officer Safety and Wellness Symposium and an IACP OSW Challenge Coin

 

- Saturday March 4: One random winner drawn from all participants that accumulate 20,000 points or more for the day will win: one (1) complimentary full conference registration to attend the 2024 Officer Safety and Wellness Symposium and an IACP OSW Challenge Coin.

Plank, Push-Up and Wall Sit Challenge Prizes

 

The individual Challenge winners of the plank, push up and wall sit Challenges will receive One (1) complimentary full conference registration to attend the 2024 Officer Safety and Wellness Symposium and an IACP OSW Challenge Coin.

Top Prize winner to be announced on March 5 in Special Session at 1 p.m., in mobile app alert, and via email.

 

Daily Wellness Goal Prize winners will be announced in mobile app alerts on March 4 and 5 and via email. A prize winner is not eligible for subsequent drawing.

Winners of the plank, push up and wall sit Challenges announced upon challenge completion, in mobile app alerts, and via email.

CHALLENGE LEADERBOARD

The Leaderboard below (also viewable in the app) rotates among the top 25 steppers and is refreshed approximately every 10 minutes once the Challenge has started.
