Join the IASLC Wellness Challenge 2023 in Singapore! 

Step up in Singapore! Count your steps and be well by participating in the IASLC Wellness Challenge. 
The IALSC Wellness Challenge is a four-day walk-a-thon and activity challenge held in conjunction with IASLC’s World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC).
To encourage participation and engagement with our on-site opportunities, registration is limited to those attending WCLC in person. 

Your step count will be converted to points that create opportunities to win prizes and engage in some friendly competition with your peers. Each participant will be added to a team by region, reminding us all that we are not alone in seeking wellness, taking time for ourselves, and celebrating our global community.

In addition to supporting physical and mental well-being among WCLC23 attendees, we want to support the continued wellness of our association members and partners. The IASLC Foundation’s funding opportunities are in place to support you and your career. With grants for research, education, and scientific initiatives, the Foundation’s work is the basis for a healthy, thriving specialty. Ensure the strength and wellness of all who strive to conquer lung cancer and with a contribution to complement your IASLC Wellness Challenge experience.

The IASLC Wellness Challenge starts on Saturday, September 9 at 8:00 SGT (Singapore) and ends on Tuesday, September 12 at 17:00 SGT (Singapore).

1) Download the IASLC Wellness Challenge 2023 app:


2) Set up your Challenge Account:

  • Launch the Challenge app and complete the in-app registration

  • Join your Team, and compete against other Teams based on average points. View the Team rankings along with the rankings of your teammates in the Team Leaderboard.

  • Pair your supported activity tracker 

3) Start Stepping!

  • To sync your step data to the app, select 'Tap to sync points' at the top of the dashboard

  • Please sync your step data at least one time per 24 hour period and before the Challenge end time to make sure all your steps count!

The IASLC Wellness Challenge is complimentary for all participants. Consider showing appreciation for the Challenge with a donation to the IASLC. You can donate as many times as you like and you will be rewarded with 3,000 bonus points per day for each donation made during the Challenge! 

Engage in multiple activities to earn points and achieve your wellness goals. Once the Challenge has started, you will receive points for each completed activity.



Your activity tracker will count your steps but steps are not the only way to participate. You can use the in app bonus activities and other wellness activities listed below to earn points. Every activity counts! 

Your daily steps and activities will be converted into points. One step = one point.

Bank a few more points to climb up the leaderboard. Once the Challenge has started, your will earn bonus points for each completed activity. Select the Bonus Activities button ** in the Challenge App to claim your points:


Scan-In: Visit the locations below and use the in-app Scan bonus activity module to scan the QR codes to earn bonus points during the Challenge:

1. Regeneron Booth (C119): Scan the QR code at the Challenge Sponsor's Booth and earn 2,500 bonus points each day. ​

Donate: Select the 'Donate' bonus activity button and make a gift to the Foundation. You can donate as many times as you like and you will receive 3,000 bonus points per day.

Benefit Matching Donation Day: Earn double points of 6,000 for donating $25 USD or more on Monday, 9/11 in celebration of our Benefit Gala supporting Early Career researchers. Your gift will be generously matched up to $15,000 by IASLC Foundation Advisory Board members, Dr. David Gandara and Dr. David Carbone.

2. Explore the Poster Gallery in the Convention Center to discover QR codes that earn you 1,000 bonus points each day.

3. Registration Booth: Scan the QR code located next to the Registration Booth for 1,000 bonus points each day.

4. Engage with our daily email content featuring wellness facts, inspirational notes, and features on our Research Grant Awardees. After viewing, type the displayed code into the bottom section of the in-app Scan module to earn 1,000 bonus points each day.

5. IASLC Membership Booth: Take your first steps with the IASLC and become a member. Receive a welcome gift of a one-time bonus of 4,000 points.


For existing members, receive 3,000 bonus points for each person you bring to the booth who becomes a new member. 

6. IASLC Business Meeting: Attend the Business meeting on Tuesday, 9/12 and earn a one-time bonus of 1,500 points.

7. Celebrate our Lectureship Award Winners: Earn 1,000 points by coming to see the recipients of our Lectureship Awards on Sunday, 9/10 8:30-10:30a.

8. Journal of Thoracic Oncology: Check out our renowned Publication JTO and JTO-CRR for a QR code worth 1,500 bonus points each day.

Daily "What Wellness Means for Me" Video: Watch the daily featured video and you will receive 1,000 bonus points per day at the end of each video.

  • ​Day 1 (Sep 9) - Dr. Narjust Florez reminds us to eat well and get some sleep! 

  • Day 2 (Sep 10) - Dr. Morten Quist on regular exercise for wellness 

  • Day 3 (Sep 11- Rodrigo chooses an active lifestyle 

  • Day 4 (Sep 12- Dr. Ayse Ugurum Yucemen shares ways to improve wellbeing 

Yoga: Follow along with the in-app yoga video session and you will receive 1,000 bonus points per day at the end of each session.

  • Gratitude Audio: Take a few minutes out of your busy day and listen to the guided Gratitude Audio and try to notice and reflect upon things you are thankful for. You will automatically receive 1,000 bonus steps at the end of the audio (limit of one bonus grant per participant).

  • Gratitude Journal: Take a few minutes out of your day for gratitude and mindfulness. Using the in-app Gratitude Journal, log 3 things you are grateful for each day to help lower stress and promote calmness in your life.  You will automatically receive 2,000 bonus points for completing your daily journal entries (limit of one bonus granted per day).


Activity Log: You can do more than walk to work your way up the Challenge Leaderboard! Engage in various other fitness activities ranging from gardening to stretching, cycling to swimming, and aerobics to rowing.  Look up the activity in the Challenge app and log the time you spent doing the activity to receive the equivalent points.  Limit of one activity log entry per day.



Final Leaderboard Prize

All participants that are on the final cumulative leaderboard (top 25 achievers) will be entered into a drawing to win a round trip airfare to the destination of your choice.

Challenge Goal Prizes

All participants that reach a cumulative Challenge Goal Level listed below by the end of the Challenge will be entered into drawings for a chance to win a prize:

  • 40,000+ Points: 12 drawing winners of an exclusive collectable IASLC 2023 Wellness Challenge T-Shirt

  • 60,000+ Points: 8 drawing winners of a Hydro Flask 32 Oz. Insulated Water Bottle

  • 80,000+ Points: 4 drawing winners of a Gratitude Journal ​and pen set

Daily Top Achiever Prizes ***

Top 10 point achievers for each day of the Challenge will be in a drawing for Apple Watch. Limit of one Apple Watch prize per person.

Daily Engagement Prizes ***

Stop by the IASLC Membership Booth when the Exhibit Hall opens on Sep 10, 11, and 12 and pick up a pair of IASLC Non-Slip Sport and Yoga Socks.  There will be a limited number distributed each day on a first-come, first-serve basis, with a limit of one pair of socks per person.

Earn 10K points in a day and come by the IASLC Membership Booth to pick up your achievement pin. There will be 50 pins given out per day on a first-come, first-serve basis. Limit of one achievement pin per person.

Regional Teams

Winning team (based on average points per team with a minimum of 3 members per team) gets listed on our new Annual Wellness Virtual Team Trophy and all team members receive 5,000 bonus points credited to next year's challenge.

Final Leaderboard and Challenge Goal prize winners will be drawn after WCLC closes at 17:00 SGT on 9/12 and announced via email and on the mobile event app on Friday 9/15. Daily Top Achiever Prize drawing winners will be announced on the following day via email and on the mobile event app.
